5 random things

1 - i need to start trying to blog more often than on fridays. and maybe less randomness

2 - i'm thinking about going to see Jackass 3D tonight, but i really don't want to see it in 3D. i dont want to pay the extra money. plus i'm kinda anti-3D

3 - the Event. i never ever ever watch drama tv shows on tv. maybe its hard for me to pay attention to something for an hour. i started watching the Event, on On Demand, and i'm hooked on it. not sure exactly why. there's nothing that great about it, except that it holds my interest and i want to see what happens next.

4 - i found out this week that my grandfather kept a diary during the time he served in the pacific in world war 2. my uncle has it. i can't wait to get my hands on it to make a copy of it. i love this kind of stuff. i can't wait to see what he wrote.

5 - super h mart for lunch. i'm leaning that way.

5 random things

1 - people say "like" too much. i say it too much. i try to catch myself and not say it at all. i've noticed almost everyone else i know saying it way way too much. what caused us to all talk this way? or have we always said "like" and i've never noticed.

2 - its been a weird week.

3 - i think my beard is longer than its ever been. i need to trim it at least, but i've been busy lately. or maybe just lazy in the beard maintenance department.

4 - go take a look at the blog and website and work of erin tyner - http://erintyner.wordpress.com/ - she's an awesome photographer here in atlanta

5 - i'm sleepy.

5 random things (saturday edition)

1 - the gators lost. and i'm not as upset and moody as i usually get. i think i realize that its just football and it shouldn't effect my mood. weird, right?

2 - i ate lamb fries this week. if you've seen "funny farm" with chevy chase, then you know what lamb fries are. as a carnivore, i feel like i should eat all parts of the animal. i've ate a whole fish once - bones and all. it was a small mackerel, i think. i think about the only part of an animal i haven't ate at this point is brain.

3 - i hung up a bunch of new art at radial - www.radial.us - be sure you go eat there and check out my drawings. they're different than what i usually do, but i plan on exploring these things a lot more in the future. oh, i recommend the leek burger for lunch and the vegetarian biscuits and gravy for breakfast.

4 - i finished reading "pale fire", by vladimir nabokov, this week. he wrote "lolita", which i highly recommend - i guess the subject matter puts some people off, but its very well written. "pale fire" is on almost every best fiction or best novel list you can find floating around the internet, so i decided to give it a try. its well written too. its very clever and funny too. i'd recommend it. i'll have to see what else i can find to read by nabokov.

5 - i wore my red hoody around the house! i also wore shorts this week, so i'm trying not to get too excited about the weather.

5 random things

1 - i still dont like karaoke that much. i like the weirdness of it
all, especially when at a karaoke place. there's something surreal
about being in a little room in a strip mall on buford highway,
drinking, and listening to people sing that i should really enjoy. and
i do up until a certain point. i may or may not have sung part of one
hank williams jr. song. then i had a cheeseburger at the waffle house
at 1:30 in the morning.

2 - 3 more drawings. 3 more drawings. 3 more drawings. 6 more days.
radial, october - do it.

3 - ate lunch at bobby and junes today. it wasn't that great. and
there was a certain type of bug on the wall that you dont want to see
at restaurants.

4 - on the other hand, i got a grilled pork banh mi at lees bakery
last night. that place never disappoints.

5 - while i seem to be on somewhat of a food theme today, i really
want to get a tattoo of a hamburger. i've been debating about where on
me to get it done though. i think i want to get it somewhere near my
stomach or ribs. you know, since thats where burgers ultimately end
up.

lately

i'm showing my art next month at radial (www.radial.us) next month. i hang it up next friday. i'm doing a series of drawings that are somewhat tedious and ocd-ish - which is part of why i like them. i like that you have get up close to them and stare at them for a while. for some reason that appeals to me too. my plan is to have around 17 of these to hang up in various sizes. i finished the the 12th one last night. so i have around 8 days left to do 5, which won't be easy, isn't impossible. hopefully my eyes, and the rest of me holds up. i feel like i have a cold or something, but i think it might just be fatigue from drawing during every free moment i have, which isnt many. i'm neglecting a lot of other things at the moment for the most part - reading, friends, soduku, clark, etc, etc - that hopefully i'll get back to in october. we'll see.

btw, go eat at radial in october and buy a drawing while you're having an awesome breakfast/brunch/lunch.

5 random things

1 - i was trying to do this every friday, but i forgot to yesterday. i know you've been on the edge of your seats waiting.

2 - i had never watched "freaks and geeks" before, but i watched about 6 hours of it last night. it was was really good.

3 - i want to go see "the town". angie hates ben affleck, so i might be going to see it by myself.

4 - i've been swamped drawing this week - see the last post for an example - getting ready for having my art up at radial - www.radial.us - next month. 7 drawings down and 10 to go.

5 - it doesnt feel like fall yet. i want to break out my hoody collection.

5 random things

1 - things are never simple and straightforward, there's always something that makes them more difficult than they should be

2 - football is underway. brett favre is old and can't throw anymore.

4 - it's fall. the fall is the best season. it's got nice weather, leaves changing, football, good camping, eating soups and chili again. spring is a close second. nice weather again, everything turning green again, and the weather turning warm again after you've missed it all winter. summer gets the third place ribbon. swimming, cooking out, and hot weather. winter can suck it.

5 - i'm listening to foo fighters this morning. i had a couple of random conversations about them yesterday, which made me want to listen to them. their first two albums, "foo fighters" and "the colour and the shape" kick ass. the third one, "there is nothing left to lose" is pretty damn good too. one of the best live bands ever, in my opinion.
